Flores Island is found north of Tofino in Clayoquot Sound and is one of the largest contiguous areas of old-growth forest left on Vancouver Island. The stunning 10km walk along the Wild Side Trail travels up the Island’s beaches while dipping in and out of the amazing coastal rainforest where it eventually reaches the blue waters of Cow Bay. Here, gray whales can be seen year round and wolves, cougars, and bears cruise the beach at night.

The trail should be accessed from the village of Ahousaht on Flores. Water taxis departing from the 1st Street dock in Tofino will get you there.
